I have driven down Merrick Blvd. for over 10 years.  I was born and raised in Brooklyn, moved to Valley Stream and worked in Woodside, Queens.  My daily commute took me from one end of Merrick Blvd. to the other; from Valley Stream, through Rosedale to Jamaica and further.  So why didn’t I know about Laurelton? Why didn’t I know that for approximately 2 minutes of my drive was through this hidden gem? A gem that is hidden by businesses, buses and vans on the main road; not knowing that only a block away in either direction would have taken me to this utopia of Tudor-style homes, beautiful lawns, and spectacle community gardens.  A small secret location which my real estate for whatever reason didn’t think to show me during my search for a home for my family 10 years ago.  Makes me think; did she even know about Laurelton?  Maybe she didn’t!  I wonder now, if she did show me a home in this area would I have bought a house here? I think I would have!

  1. I am so grateful for the information on hypertension. This information is very timely for us, women, who are busy taking care of everyone and everything and not ourselves. Your program is very informative and I would like to encourage you and your team to continue the fantastic job in the transformation of the Laurelton community.
