On May 4th Laurelton Operation Clean Up launched its third season. The community led effort has been going strong since 2017. It is always inspiring to see Laurelton residents, past and present come together to make our community a more just and beautiful place. The featured sponsors of the May 4th Clean Up were The High School of Law Enforcement Explorers and The Federated Blocks of Laurelton.
Over the past two years the community has come together during the summer months to clean up Merrick Blvd, design a beautiful community mural and elevate community pride.
In order to continue the success of Laurelton Operation Clean Up, it takes all of us. Over 30 volunteers show up to give back to Laurelton. When you see them outside pulling weeds, and picking up debris as you drive by in your car saying “thank you”, is sweet, joining us is making change.
The Laurelton Operation Clean Up will be emphasizing this year the maintenance of the Laurelton medians. The organization is inviting all residents to become key partners in achieving the goals of adding flowers, flowering plants, controlling weeds and group plantings around the medians.
