In Rosedale, Queens, cleanliness is a concern to the residents. Overflowing trash receptacles, non-manicured trees, and leaves seem to be a constant cause of uncleanliness throughout Rosedale.

It is important to keep our community clean because it is a representation of its residents. Visitors should know that residents take pride in the appearance of their neighborhood because it is well kept. It shouldn’t appear as if no one cares or lives there.

Some residents often complain about keeping their community clean. Joshua Bellevue, a 7th grade STEAM student at the Linden SDA school believes that a community’s appearance is a reflection of its residents. Bellevue told Laurelton.nyc that “it is important to keep our community clean because when people pass by, you don’t want them to think it’s a bad community.”

Gaelle Angrand, a Rosedale resident believes that uncleanliness affects the universe. “It is important to keep my community clean because when people throw trash everywhere it leads to the ocean and kills the animals and I don’t want the animals to die,” Angrand told Laurelton.nyc. See the source image

Residential Waste Systems, a waste removing business urges neighborhoods to keep a clean environment to prevent pollution. Homeowners and residents are asked to secure their garbage in a scented bag and tie it so that nothing gets out. It’s also suggested to use plastic straw alternatives like metal, paper, or glass straws to prevent pollution.

Faith Griffith believes “it is important to keep my community clean because we need to live by example so other communities can keep their community clean.”

Keeping our communities clean will not only inspire more neighborhoods in Queens, but Brooklyn, Manhattan, The Bronx, Staten Island, and beyond.

“If our communities aren’t clean, then people would not want to visit,” said Dillon Robinson, a Queens resident and a student at Linden SDA.

“It is also important to keep our community clean so that humans, animals, and plants are not exposed to pollutants that can harm them. If we don’t have a clean environment, then pollution can spread and nature will be impacted. I don’t want plants to die because that is what makes a clean community,” Robinson added.
