Students from Laurelton’s STEAM for Social Change Program interviewed business owner Ann Branch of Party Shack. The interview will be featured on the social action project, The Anti-Gun Violence Asset Mapping Project. Over the past two years, students in the STEAM for Social Change Program have been working on creating an interactive map that focuses on the good in the community to help fight gun violence. Students identified businesses that focus on health and wellness and economic development.
Ann Branch, owner of Party Shack has been pouring into the Laurelton community for over 20 years. Ms. Branch graciously agreed to have the middle school students interview and film her business to be featured on the project. The Party Shack will be added to the interactive map and serve as an example that there are community leaders and business owners who are dedicated to pouring into their communities.
Stephen Taylor of Colorway Productions facilitated youth from the STEAM for Social Change program during the Fall semester of 2024. STEAM for Social Change is a project of DIVAS for Social Justice.
