Ajani Semple: Hi, I’m Ajani Semple from the Linden SDA School STEAM Program and I was wondering if you have time to answer a few questions about Laurelton.

Mrs. Grace: That would be fine.

AS: What is there to do for fun in Laurelton?
MG: Fun? I’m a grandmother so fun for me is staying home, but my grandson goes to a nearby park a lot when it’s warm out. I’m not sure of the name, but he plays basketball there.

AS: Do you think that Laurelton’s a safe place to live? Have you experienced any robberies or break-ins?
MG: Yes, Laurelton’s been safe so far. I’ve only been here two years, and I haven’t heard of any break-ins.

AS: What do you think can be done to improve Laurelton?
MG: Not much, it’s a very quiet neighborhood with little problems. Except maybe the overcrowding that’s bound to happen here because of real estate agents and developers. They make the lots built for one family houses into two and three family homes, and change up the people you’ve known and bring in twice as many people.

AS: Do you contribute to the community in any way?
MG: Not me directly, but my daughter does go to the Laurelton community meetings out on Merrick and she tells me all about them.

AS: Are you close to your neighbors?
MG: Definitely. I’ve made good friends here.

AS: Lastly, why’d you move to Laurelton, of all places?
MG: My daughter brought me here to spend time with the kids and get a quieter place. The move wasn’t too difficult; I used to live in Springfield, but I’m glad I made it.

AS: Thanks for your time, Mrs. Grace.
