The Linden SDA school is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month during October with weekly student activities. As part of the celebration, the students received a visit from the president of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, Dr. Daniel Honore. Dr. Honore, who is from the Dominican Republic, spoke to the students in the auditorium about where he grew up. He spoke about his childhood and family. He told the students that his family traveled often between the United Stated and the Dominican Republic. He was educated in both countries. The students really liked what Dr. Honore had to say. They felt he was very nice and friendly.
Other activities for the celebration included a special snack tasting of nacho chips and salsa. There were also displays throughout the school and PowerPoint presentations by the 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
So far, the students have enjoyed Hispanic Heritage Month 2017. It has been exciting, fun and very educational.
