On Saturday, June 20, 2020 PM a Peaceful Protest With A Purpose took place from 11-2PM. The march kicked off at Francis Lewis and 120th Ave by Cambria Heights Playground. The protest event was organized by City Of Maranatha Chruch & Empower My Hood. The event highlighted the Esota Dance Company that graced the streets with empowered dancers and spoken word artists.
Over 200 community residents marched down Springfield Boulevard calling for change. At the end of the march, resources were made available to the community for Voter Registration, 2020 Census Guidance, Psychologists for Social Justice as well as legal assistance.
It was truly inspiring to see so many community residents walking in solidarity. Black Lives Matter.
