Since March 2020, the world has come to a standstill because of Coronavirus, also known as COVID19. The reality is that some people are not taking the virus seriously. The United States has seen over five million cases according to Johns Hopkins.

Cases are continuing to increase throughout our communities. Some businesses like supermarkets have created social distancing guidelines and safety measures to stop the spread of the virus. In most stores, floor stickers are indicating the six feet guideline. There is plexiglass that separates the cashier and the customers. Also, some signs indicate the importance of masks. Without one, you cannot enter a store.

However, some folks fail to follow those rules. Some folks still cluster together, especially on public transportation. Clearly, that is breaking the rule. Then some folks refuse to wear a mask. The mask is necessary because it helps to prevent the exchange of bodily fluids, say the experts.

“The only thing they might do is throw huge parties and invite many people to their house every day,” said Karina Vinces, a concerned New Yorker. Not taking this pandemic seriously can cause you or your loved ones to get ill. Rosario Pinargote said,

“one reason people are getting sick is because they get COVID but they don’t have any symptoms so they go out and spread COVID.”

Even Though elders are at most risk, they are still out in public. Health and safety guidelines are important in ending COVID19. To do so, businesses need to be strict with their rules and people need to follow them because it will help decrease the number of cases. Dine-In and fast food restaurants have taken the guidelines seriously.
