My name is Jamil Joseph and I’m from Linden SDA and we are trying to get signatures to build and create the Laurelton Community Garden of Resilience. We need the community gardens to have better food choices and to be able to have a cleaner community. I recognize Laurelton as a food dessert. A food desert is when a community does not have enough healthy food choices. My personal experience was that I went to do my pitch at peoples doors and the people were polite. We got seven signatures. The people were happy to help out the community and sign the petition. This project is important because it helps people to have better lives and to live longer. In the community, we will planting fruits and vegetables ,have a meditation and play area. My school could play a role by gathering the school together and make the community a better place.
