DIVAS (Digital Interactive Visual Arts Sciences) for Social Justice, a community based organization is providing a 4- day a week after-school program specializing in STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Math) for Social Change based activities in Laurelton for FREE! The after-school program is offered Monday- Thursday 3-6:30PM. In the program, students are offered the following:
- Homework Help & Snacks
- Fun Trips & STEAM Based Festival Participants
- Social & Emotional Learning
- STEAM Based Activities that include: Engineering, 3D-Printing, Virtual Reality,Digital Media & More.
- Project Based Learning Through Community Building
All participants will be able to participate in The Virtual Reality (VR)Civic Engagement Initiative to create a VR experience for the 1st community garden in Laurelton. Participants will be the founders of a new model to community based learning.
This opportunity is available for teens ages 11-14 that live in Southeast, Queens. The program is funded by The Department Of Youth & Community Development. All participants are required to fill out an enrollment form and be interviewed by the Program Director. The program will take place at:
