Pastor Sherri Tolbert, a Laurelton resident provided fresh fruits and vegetables for two community fridges in Southeast Queens this week. Tolbert is an active member of Jesus Is Justice Mission Church. Pastor Cynthia Bryant leads a food pantry every Wednesday for community members. Pastor Tolbert drove from fridge to fridge providing fresh produce and non-perishable items as well. She was able to provide items for the St. Albans Community Fridge and the Laurelton Community Fridge. These initiative are a collective effort. You can donate to the Laurelton Community Fridge or the St. Albans Community Fridge to help address the issue of food insecurity. Both community fridges need local residents to also assist in volunteering. Even if you can not give monetary or food donations, the most valuable gift you can give is time in the form of maintaining a fridge that is for all of us .
