DIVAS for Social Justice is proud to be a community partner with the Mayor’s Office of Technology and Innovation to power Laurelton.nyc, a new online platform developed to encourage civic engagement, online organizing and information sharing.
Laurelton.nyc serves as an online community news outlet to encourage inter-generational citizen journalism. The community members of Laurelton will serve as contributors to Laurelton.nyc .
DIVAS for Social Justice encourages youth in underserved communities to use technology for social change and know there is a need for digital literacy in all communities. Students that participate in the DIVAS after-school program STEAM for Social Change will also serve as citizen journalists at Laurelton.nyc.
